The following were neighbors of John George Schmidtpeter (Smithpeter) who settled in 1752 at the Dutch Fork and was subsequently murdered by the Weberites on 24 February 1761.
Jacob Burghard: 1747, 100 acres, N side of Saluda or Santee River; petition dated 28 May 1742; SC Council Journal I, pp 68-68. (Convicted 1761 of the murders of Captain John George Smithpeter and Michael Hentz at Charles Town.)
Jacob Derer: 1748, N side of Saluda or Santee River; petition, 11 Nov. 1747, SCCJ, V I, pp 48-49.
Caspar Faust: 1744, 200 acres, N side of Saluda or Santee River.
John Jacob Geiger: 1744, of Sax Gotha, 150 acres in Fork between Broad River and Congree in neighborhood of Saxe Gotha. (SCCJ, Vol I, 31 Jan 1744, p 69.
1749; 200 acres, N side of Saluda, land opposite to SaxaGotha Township; seeking add'l 50 acres as now married Arsilla Anishansly with two children; SCCJ, Vol II, pp 513-514. (He sold 92 acres to John Mathias.)

John Jacob Friday: 150 arces, opposite (North) side of Saluda or Santee River to Sax Gotha Township; family of three children; SCCJ, Vol I, 13 March 1744.
John Friday: On 18 Sept 1746, SCCJ, Vol I, p 162, John Friday stated he had married Susanna Hembright, a Protestant Swisser, who was servant to John Morton, Esq. who came to SC c1744 in ship St. Andrew; asks for 100 acres in Sax Gotha by virtue of family right.
John (Mathys) Mathias: 1745, 150 acres, North side of Saluda; of Sax Gotha; 3 persons by virtue of family right; land in the Fork between Santee & Wateree Rivers over against the Township of Saxgotha; SCCJ, Vol I, p 504.
